This paper explores the contemporary art education for children.As theeducation role of art museum draws more and more attention,a better understanding of the contemporary art education for children is needed.Itis the aim of this study to discuss methods of the contemporary art education for children.The paper begins by reviewing the literature of Howard Gardner’ s Theory of Multiple Intelligences and the educational philosophy of Tom Anderson,and examining cases of National Art Museum of China.It goes on suggests that the contemporary art education for childrenshould give full consideration of the characteristics of the contemporary art and the children’ s learning theory.This paper hopes to provide a new thinking direction of the contemporary art education for children.
