This research is based on the collection of medical education related files in the Republic of China in Beijing archives,and guided by the research methods of philology,sociology and history.Through the research on the archives related to medical education in the period of the Republic of China,including the documents related to the development of university courses,teaching materials,teachers,medical students’ practice,examination of practicing doctors and employment,this paper analyzes the unique significance of each part in the whole period of the Republic of China,and combs the main idea,relevant policies and specific operations of medical education in the period of the Republic of China After summarizing the outline of medical education in the period of the Republic of China and its reference value for today’s medical education.ObjectiveMedical education in the period of the Republic of China is a critical period for the transformation of modern medical education from individual to group,which is of great significance to the development of medical college education.In the period of the Republic of China,the social environment was complex.There was a huge contrast between western medicine education and traditional Chinese medicine education.In the history of medical education,medical education in the period of the Republic of China has a unique significance.In addition to the ideological and philosophical level of education concept determined by the social and historical background,it also covers the specific operation of college construction,curriculum system construction,teacher recruitment,medical assessment and the actual employment situation.In this paper,the main research object is a part of Medical Education Archives in the Republic of China.Through the systematic collection and arrangement of documents and materials in this period,and on the basis of these documents,the author analyzes and studies them,and then,combined with the social and historical background at that time,discusses the main influential factors at that time,and combs the development of medical education in the Republic of China.Methods1.Literature method:collect and sort out research materials,collect and record medical education related policies and documents from the archives of the Republic of China,and then classify and discuss them,which are mainly divided into seven parts:college construction,curriculum arrangement,textbook selection,teachers,poverty alleviation measures,assessment methods,practical employment.2.Analysis and induction:sort out the specific implementation of the above seven parts and the policy changes at that time,summarize the development process of Chinese and Western medicine education in the Republic of China,and analyze the influencing factors of its specific measures.3.Interdisciplinary research methods:medical education research belongs to interdisciplinary research,mainly involving the research methods of history,pedagogy,sociology and other interdisciplinary research methods,in order to obtain the full picture of medical education in the Republic of China through different discipline research and mutual supplement.Results1.The purpose of medical education market in the period of the Republic of China was to cultivate medical talents suitable for the social conditions at that time.Therefore,in this process,it is a complete process from the beginning of education to the end of clinical practice.2.The transformation of medical education starts with the establishment of medical colleges.In the process of the construction of medical colleges,the relevant files comprehensively reflect the status of the schools built at that time and the person in charge of each school.The construction of curriculum system reflects three kinds of educational ideas and modes at that time,which is the result of social factors at that time.3.The relevant materials of textbook selection include three stages of the development of medical education textbooks,from the initial classics to the final general textbooks,reflecting the process of continuous improvement of medical education.4.The data related to physician assessment recorded the rules,specific procedures and assessment contents of physician assessment in the period of the Republic of China.It reflects that the assessment system of doctors at that time has a certain reference value for the emphasis of traditional culture.5.Medical students’ employment related materials contain many reasons for medical students’ employment difficulties and regulatory measures,which can be used for reference in solving today’s medical students’ employment problems.
