The Clinical Efficacy And Safety Evaluation Of Haoqin Huaban Recipe In The Treatment Of Hormone-dependent Dermatitis, Heat And Toxin Accumulation Syndrome

Facial hormone-dependent dermatitis,namely "drug-toxic disease" in Traditional Chinese Medicine,is a kind of facial recurrent dermatitis.It is easy to be confused with pityriasis rosea,eczema and allergic dermatitis.It is mainly caused by long-term improper topical use of hormone-containing preparations or products.It is characterized by erythema,burning,itching,dryness/desquamation,or even pustules and exudates.Because of the lesion distribulation,it brings both physical and mental suffering to the patients.There are many kinds of therapies,but the curative effect is uneven.Therefore,it is urgent and necessary to find an effective,economical and safe treatment with low side effects.Purpose: To explore the clinical efficacy and safety evaluation of HQHB(blood-heat syndrome with toxicity)for hormone-dependent dermatitis and lay a good foundation for further exploration,providing a new method for the treatment of hormone-dependent dermatitis.Methods:A randomized,controlled study was conducted.The subjects were randomly divided into two groups.They were given Haoqin Huaban Formula or Liangxue Jiedu Decoction orally,and both were given pure water-cooled wet compress combined with vitamin E ointment for external use.Follow-up was carried out every week,including skin lesion evaluation,skin lesion photography and skin barrier function measurement.The total course was 4 weeks.The data were analyzed after the course of treatment.The main evaluation indicators were FHDD disease severity score,including erythema color/area/swelling/dryness/debris/telangiectasia/skin atrophy,and the secondary outcome indicators were TCM syndrome score,including vexation/thisrty/yellow urine/dry stool,pruritus score and skin barrier function.Results:A total of 51 subjects were enrolled,only 45 completed the whole study.The local skin lesion,TCM symptoms score and itching degree of the treatment group and the control group were significantly improved after the treatment(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in skin barrier function between the treatment group and the control group after treatment(P>0.05).The hydration and temperature of lesion were improved after treatment(P<0.05),but stay unchanged in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Haoqin Huaban Formula and Liangxue Jiedu Decoction both have equal and obvious curative effect on hormone-dependent dermatitis,which can improve skin lesion symptoms?TCM symptoms and itching degree.Haoqin Huaban Formula can improve skin barrier function,including the hydration and temperature of the lesion.Moreover,HQHB has no obvious side effects and is safe and effective.Our study provides a new therapy for FHDD.
