Research On The Needs Of Parents Of Premature Infants Involved In Medical Social Work

According to the statistics of the World Health Organization,premature babies account for 10% of newborns in the world.Premature babies have become a huge group.With the development of bio-psycho-social medical model,the psycho-social problems of children and their families have attracted worldwide attention.At present,the research on parents of premature infants in our country is relatively weak.If we intervene in the needs of parents of premature infants from the perspective of medical social work and provide support and services for parents of premature infants,it will not only help relieve the pressure of parents of newborn infants,promote the widespread attention of society to parents of premature infants,but also promote the professional development of medical social work.This article takes the "Home for Premature Infants" project of Qingdao W Hospital as an example,through questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews,to understand the three main needs of parents of premature infants: first,the needs of parents to relieve anxiety and depression caused by sudden birth of infants and closed treatment;second,the needs of knowledge and information lacking medical and nursing knowledge;third,the needs of economic support brought by high medical costs.Supported by the theory of bio-psycho-social medical model,the theory of social support and the theory of group motivation,a series of service activities are carried out by using professional social work skills,thus improving the needs of parents of premature infants to a certain extent.Therefore,the practice of this project has produced some experiences,for example,peer support can relieve the psychological pressure of parents of premature infants,and it is important to pay attention to the cooperation with medical staff and the importance of resource linking.At the end of the article,the author reflected on the inclusion of medical social work in the service for the needs of parents of premature infants,and found that there were mainly the following problems: weak government and social support for families of premature infants,insufficient policy support,lack of professional education,difficulties of insufficient self-ability and complicated needs of parents of premature infants.According to the above problems,the author puts forward corresponding improvement suggestions,hoping to explore a more optimal path for medical social work to intervene in the services required by parents of premature infants,and promote the development of medical social work to a more professional direction.
