Evaluation Of The Curative Effect Of Qidan Fugan Granules In The Treatment Of Children With Repeated Respiratory Tract Infections And Its Influence On SIL-2R And TNF-α

Obj ective:Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infection(RRTI)is a common disease in children,featuring recurrence,long duration and difficult to recover.Severe cases may be complicated with other diseases,which will adversely affect children’s growth and development.It was treated with defeciency theory.Professor Wang Junhong invented Qidanfugan granule based on clinical experience and "long duration sickness leading to stasis" theory,to supplement Qi,promote blood and activate spleen,to treat RRTI.RRTI patients with Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome were involved during remission.We compared the treatment effects on frequency,duration,symptoms during acute infection and remission between Qidanfugan granule and Yupingfeng granule.It is believed that RRTI is related to humoral immunity and cellular immunity,so we tested sIL-2R and TNF-α in this study to explore the organism of Qidanfugan granule treating RRTI.Method:55 children(2-14 years old)diagnosed RRTI Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome in pediatric department of Dongzhimen Hospital affliated to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine during November 2017 to June 2018 were involved in this study.The children were randomly seperated into 2 groups(treatment group and control group).Children in treatment group were treated with Qidanfugan granule,while children in control group were treated with Yupingfeng granule.The treatment lasted for 8 weeks in both groups,followed by 6-month follow-up.51 cases eventually completed(27 in treatment group and 24 in control group),and 4 cases dropped out.Respiratory tract infection frequency,duration,disease,syptoms were recorded,sIL-2R and TNF-α level in serum were tested before and after treatment.Results:(1)Treatment effects:ORR in treatment group is 92.6%,higher than 83.3%in control group.But the 2 groups show no statistic significance compared with each other(P>0.05).(2)Effects on respiratory tract infection frequency,duration,and disease:Both groups show improvement after treatment(P<0.05).The treatment group shows better improvement on frequency and duration than the control group(P<0.05),while on disease,the 2 groups show no statistic significance(P>0.05).(3)Effects on syptoms:All syptoms in 2 groups relieve after treatment(P<0.05).The treatment group shows better improvement on stuffy running nose,throat pain,cough and phlegm than the control group(P<0.05).The 2 groups show no statistic significance on fever(P>0.05).(4)Effects on Chinese medicine syptoms:ORR in the treatment group is 92.6%,higher than 87.5%in the control group,but there’s no statistic significance between them(P>0.05).(5)Effects on sIL-2R and TNF-a:sIL-2R and TNF-a level in serum decrease in the treatment group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Qidanfugan granule can decrease the frequency and duration of respiratory tract infection,and relieve syptoms.It may be effective by decreasing sIL-2R and TNF-αlevel in serum,and improving immune function.Prior study and clinical experience support Qidanfugan granule is effective for RRTI as well.Thus it worths further study and exporation.
