In recent years, visual impairment has seriously affected people's visual health, especially the cataract eye disease problem with the highest rate of blindness in eye diseases. It is quite common in visual defects.Vision defects bring many problems to the healthy development of people. On the one hand, the growing number of visually impaired workers has caused serious economic losses to workers and socio-economic growth.According to the WHO's rough estimate(2009).the total direct losses and indirect losses caused by visual impairment globally are worth 3 trillion US dollars each year. The continuous increase in the number of visually impaired people has brought a huge negative impact on society and individuals,so that the protection of human health in the 21st century urgently needs to face it,so that we can no longer escape. On the other hand, visual impairment has adversely affected the learning and physical and mental health of the educated.Studies have shown that children with visual impairments have worse literacy and academic performance.Children with vision problems also have worse emotional and cognitive performance. The physical and psychological harm caused to school-age children by vision problems is seriously affecting the healthy development of human society. Moreover, with the development of society, this problem will be even more prominent. However, the cataract problem is the most prominent among numerous visual defects.Studies have shown that cataracts are the first cause of blindness. Therefore,we urgently need to pay attention to the cataract problem. However, most of the existing domestic researches are biased toward older age groups and urban areas, and they pay more attention to surgical treatment. However, they pay little attention to the investigation of children's groups and impoverished areas, prevention stages, and pathogenic factors. The group of children is the flower of the motherland. The backbone of the future society and good social development cannot be separated from the protection of children. In addition,poverty-stricken areas have poor resource endowments and lack good health conditions.and they should receive more attention from the society.Furthermore.foreign literature reports that the incidence of cataract in children is high in impoverished areas. These reasons urge us to pay more attention to cataract problems among school-age children in impoverished areas. Therefore, this dissertation aims to investigate the status of cataract in school-aged children in poverty-stricken areas from the individual level, school level and family level, and to explore the prevalence of cataract in school-age children.Based on the results of this study,we propose policies to improve the vision protection of school-age children in impoverished areas and promote the overall development of school-age children in poverty-stricken areas. In order to achieve the above goals, this study conducted a large sample of data to screen 10,451 school-aged children for vision screening and eye disease screening. The main research contents of this article include:(1)Describe the prevalence of cataract in school-aged children in impoverished areas in Shaanxi Province, and describe the current status of cataract in school-aged children;(2)Compare the degree of visual acuity and cataract;(3)Cataracts for school-age children Disease related factors were analyzed. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The prevalence of cataract in school-age children in poor areas of Shaanxi Province is high, the prevalence of cataract in school-age children is 1.02%,and the prevalence of cataract in school-age children is 2.58%.(2)The poorer the uncorrected visual acuity, the higher the prevalence of cataract in school-age children;the spectacles-free vision has nothing to do with school-age children suffering from cataract.(3)The prevalence of cataract in girls, glasses, older age, living in school, high degree of myopia in the naked eye.and parental education is relatively high;sex, age.and uncorrected visual acuity are the main effects of cataract factor.Based on the above findings, this paper proposes the following policy recommendations:(1)To carry out research on vision protection based on clinical prevention, and explore methods and measures for effective prevention and control of cataract.(2)It is recommended that the relevant departments incorporate the screening of adolescent eye diseases into the basic public health services for eye protection as soon as possible to improve the quality of eye disease screening.
