Objective: In this work,we studied the effects of Dong's acupoints therapy on the clinical efficacy of primary dysmenorrhea and the content of prostaglandin(PGF2?)in peripheral blood, investigated the clinical efficacy of the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea and related mechanism, and try to provide a more effective, simple and safe acupuncture treatment for primary dysmenorrhea. Methods: 1.Forty patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into treatment group and control group according to the principle of randomization.Twenty patients in the treatment group were treated with Dong's acupoints therapy and twenty patients in the control group were treated with ibuprofen sustained-release capsules. Two groups were treated on the first day of menstrual cramps pain, once a day for three consecutive days, lasting three menstrual cycles.Efficacy evaluation was done by dysmenorrhea observation scale, and observed before treatment, after each menstrual cycle and after three months of treatment.2.Ten patients were randomly selected from each group. The levels of serum PGF2? in peripheral blood were observed before and after treatment. Results: 1.It is tested that there was no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group in age and the course of disease(P> 0.05),and thus these two groups are comparable. Also, the scores of dysmenorrhea levels between the treatment group and the control group before treatment were tested, and there was no significant difference(P> 0.05)and are comparable.2.The evaluation of efficacy was done for two groups of patients after three months of treatment. In the group using Dong's acupoints therapy,7 cases were recovered,8 cases markedly effective,3 cases effective,2 cases noneffective, and the total effective rate is 90%.In the group using ibuprofen,7 cases were recovered,8 cases markedly effective,3 cases effective,2 cases noneffective, and the total effective rate is 85%.The difference between the two groups in the long-term efficacy is statistically significant(P <0.05).It suggests that the clinical efficacy of Dong's acupoints therapy in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea is better than that of ibuprofen.3.The levels of serum PGF2? in these two groups became significantly lower after the treatment(P <0.01),but there was no significant difference between these two groups(P = 0.339> 0.05).The results showed that Dong's acupoints therapy can significantly lower the level of serum PGF2?,and the effect is equivalent to that of ibuprofen.Conclusion:1.In particular, the long-term effect of this treatment is better than that of taking only ibuprofe. It is concluded that Dong's acupoints therapy is superior in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.2.Dong's acupoints can make menstral period the blood serum PGF2?lower than before, the blood serum PGF2?are closely to primary dysmenorrhea.
