Hepatitis B is a major global health problem. To study the pathogenesis of chronic hepatitis B and the early blocing of the disease progression is important in order to reduce the incidence of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. There are many factors to influence patients who are chronically infected hepatitis B virus on developing liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The host immune response is the one such factor, which is induced by viral persistence. In the host immune response,CD4-positive helper T cells serve a critically important regulatory function by secreting a variety of cytokines to conduct acquired immune response. It palys a role in the processing of HBV infection mediated liver inflammation and damage.Recently, there are several studies to describe one additional subsets of CD4-positive T cells:Th17 cells. Some studies have reported that IL-17 which produced by Th17 cells can elacerbate the inflammation in the liver by inducing more neutrophils and macrophages to recruit into tissue and triggering the damage in the non-infectious liver disease. However, the role of Th17 cells in regulating the immune response during HBV infection remains unknown. To study the relationship between the Th17 cells and Th17-related factors and chronic hepatic infection in patients with Chronic Hepatitis B,we choice mild, moderate, severe patients of CHB from clinical. We measured the serum level of Thl7 related cytokines and liver damage index in those patients. We hope to figure out the role of Th17 cells in the CHB.Taking together,we found that IL-17,IL-23,IL-1?,IL-6 levels in patients were higher than those in healthy people. The levels of cytokines were related with the severity of disease, more severe more cytokines. The level of IL-17 in patients with Chronic Hepatitis B has a positive correlation with ALT no correlation with HBVDNA and a negative correlation with ALB and A/G The numbers of Th17 cells in blood of patients were higher than those in healthy people. So we got the conclusion that as a new CD4+T cells,Th17 cells take participation in the occurrence and development process of chronic hepatic inflammation in the chronic hepatitis B patients.
