Deep-Liter Systems is a new technology in duck production,which can improve environment in duck house,and enhance immunity and performance in duck.This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Deep-Liter Systems on environment in duck house,immune function and growth performance in cherry valley meat duck.One-day-old healthy ducks were randomly divided into two groups with 3 replicates and 200 ducks in each replicated.The control group was reared in traditional conxrete-based house,and the treatment group was reared in deep-liter house.The two groups fed the same diets for 42 days.The results showed that: 1)the average daily temperature was not difference between control group and treatment group at the age of ten days(P > 0.05),but significantly increased in treatment group at the age of twenty days and thirty-five days(P < 0.05),respectively.Compared with control group,ammonia concentration in duck house were significantly or extremely significantly decreased by 62.9% and 65.9% in treatment group at the age of ten days(P < 0.05),twenty days(P < 0.01),thirty-five days(P < 0.01),respectively.Meanwhile,the incidence of respiratory diseases and mortality rate in treatment group were decreased significantly by 2 and 3 times than that in control group,respectively(P < 0.05).2)Compared with control group,the serum IgG of meat duck was significantly increased by 2 and 1.5 times at the age of twenty days(P < 0.01)and thirty-five days(P < 0.01)in treatment group,respectively.In treatment group,the bursa index,spleen index and thymus index in meat duck were decreased significantly as compared with control group(P < 0.05).However,there was no different in the bursa index and spleen index of meat duck between two groups at age of twenty-one days(P > 0.05).3)Compared with control group,the survival rate was increased significantly,and feed intake and feed conversion ratio were decreased significantly by 2%,18 g/d and 0.26 in treatment group,respectively(P < 0.05),but no effect on weight gain as compared with control group(P > 0.05).In conclusion,Deep-Liter Systems improved environment by decreased ammonia concentration in duck house.Meanwhile,Deep-Liter Systems increased survival of meat duck by promoted the immune organ growth and enhanced immune function,and improved production performance by decreed feed intake and feed conversion ratio in meat duck.
