the city culture continuity.With the development of urban economy,the scarcity of urban land shows that it is impossible for cities to expand without limit.The development of a large number of newly-built residential areas not only increases the burden of urban infrastructure,but also brings many inconveniences to the employment,study,medical treatment,entertainment and other daily life of urban residents.At the same time,the development of a city has a history of hundreds or even thousands of years,with a long history and culture,so that each city has formed its own unique urban pattern and style.Simple house demolition and reconstruction,will destroy the original pattern of the city,so that the city lost a long history,into the modern pattern of sameness.Shikumenlilong is an alien cultural parasitic body which was born in the process of Shanghai transforming from a traditional coastal trading port into a modern metropolis.Shikumen building unit takes the traditional Jiangnan courtyard-style residence as the performance form,but in the overall layout has been the western row-style residence influence.The significance of the existence of this alien cultural parasite lies in its integration of the traditional way of life with the needs of modern urban life Taking into account the spirit of the Shanghai people have not yet completely separated from the local complex and the desire for modern lifestyle.This form of residence gradually became a part of the daily life of Shanghai residents during the development and evolution of the past 100 years.It the attention of scholars.This paper mainly takes Shikumenlilong,253 Huanghe road,Shanghai as a representative to carry out the research,hoping to make a further discussion from the application of the aspects: theoretical discussion and design practice.In the part of theoretical discussion,the introduction analyzes the research purpose and significance,the current research situation and development trend at home and abroad,as well as the research methods The internal and external planning of Shikumen and the remaining problems are analyzed.The combination of Chinese and Western styles in Shikumen Lane,both of which are the architectural styles I used,has now become the symbol of the city of Shanghai.It was a challenge and innovation to the conventional aesthetic of the people at that time.It accepted the impact of foreign cultures with an open mind In the blending of Chinese and Western cultures,it formed its unique style,which provided infinite possibility for the later residential building decoration style.The whole city reveals a westernized sense of fashion.This kind of cultural infiltration at the most common and basic level has laid a good foundation for Shanghai to become an international metropolis.Today’s ancestors with their hard work and wisdom for us to create this piece of stone door lane into the city’s business card,to show the world the
