Research On The Application Of Curb Openings In The Construction Of Sponge Cities

With the comprehensive advancement of the sponge city construction,the scientific and rational treatment of rainwater runoff has been received more and more attention.One of the economical approaches is to use the curb-opening to divert rainwater runoff into the greenland and sponge city facilities,which can realize the detention and purification of rainwater in greenland and sponge city facilities.However,due to the lack of the design standards and methods of the curb-opening at the present,some problems,such as the low drainage efficiency which can easily cause waterlogging,have occurred in project practice.In the paper,the stormwater management and the application of curb-opening at home and abroad are summarized.The common forms,characteristics and use scope of curb-opening are introduced.Moreover,the problems of the use of curb-opening in the sponge city construction at present is analyzed.According to the location of the curb-opening,this study is divided into three cases to analyze.The three cases are the curb-opening between permeable pavement and greenbelt & sponge city facilities,between impermeable pavement and greenbelt & sponge city facilities,and between permeable pavement adjacent to impervious pavement and greenbelt and sponge city facilities.In view of the three situations,the corresponding runoff generation models are analyzed respectively,and the hydraulic characteristics of the curb-opening in each case are studied,as well as the corresponding calculation methods are proposed.By comparing the aspects of simplicity,accuracy,applicability and generality of simulation software commonly used in sponge city construction at present,Stormwater Management Model(SWMM)is selected as the effect analysis software for the use of curb-opening in the sponge city construction to verify the practicability of the calculation method.The simulation principle,the installation of the sponge city facilities and the steps of SWMM are introduced in detail.Finally,taking the sponge city construction of the Changzhen Road in Shenzhen as an example,the design process of the sponge city construction is introduced in detail.And the length and spacing of the curb-openings are calculated in detail using the hydraulic calculation method studied in this paper.The drainage capacity of the curb-opening with different plans is analyzed by using SWMM,and the rationality of the calculation method is verified.The calculation method of the curb-opening proposed in this paper provides a theoretical basis for project practice,and is helpful to precise design of the sponge city facilities.
