In recent years, new energy vehicles have developed rapidly. As one of the emerging industries, new energy vehicles have received strong support from the government because of their high resource utilization, technological leadership and green environmental protection. The original intention of government subsidies is to improve the innovation capability of enterprises, promote the long-term development of enterprises, and promote industrial upgrading. There are many factors affecting the innovation performance of new energy auto companies, and the nature of property rights is one of them.In the past, most of the relevant researches were empirical studies, and the mechanism of the nature of property rights affecting the innovation performance of enterprises has not been explained. This paper adopts literature research method, case study method and event research method, and adopts a new research perspective to study how the nature of property rights affects enterprise innovation performance. This paper first sorts out the relevant literature, and then clarifies the concept of government subsidies, property rights and innovation performance, and forms a theoretical analysis framework through relevant theoretical analysis. The nature of property rights determines the resource endowment and institutional logic of the enterprise. The difference in resource endowment affects the ability to acquire resources. The difference in institutional logic leads to differences in signal transmission.Under the combined effect of resource endowment and institutional logic, there will be some differences in corporate governance. The nature of property rights can be analyzed from the three aspects of resource acquisition ability, signal transmission performance and corporate governance differences.Secondly, the two state-owned enterprises,Jinlong Automobile and private enterprise Yutong Bus,were introduced. The two case companies are similar in terms of property rights. They are very suitable for comparative analysis.First, they evaluate the innovation performance of case enterprises and then combine them according to the theoretical framework. The case company's financial and non-financial data were compared and analyzed to verify the theoretical framework. The conclusions are as follows: The nature of property rights has an effect on the innovation performance of new energy automobile companies, and this mechanism can be explained from three aspects: resource acquisition ability, signal transmission performance and corporate governance differences. Therefore, this paper puts forward suggestions: from the government level,we should pay attention to the fairness of resource allocation, focus on private enterprises;improve the regulatory supervision mechanism, continuously track the use of funds;adjust support policies in a timely manner, and improve the efficiency of government subsidies. From the enterprise level,we will promote the reform of mixed ownership, improve the internal agency relationship;improve internal control, strengthen internal supervision;improve R&D level and cultivate core competitiveness.
