Research On Brick Towers Of The Jin Dynasty In Henan

The brick pagoda is a common type of Chinese buddhist pagoda and an important buddhist architecture.Henan,located in the central plains,is an important region for the development and spread of Buddhism in China.Since the northern wei dynasty,many brick towers have been built throughout the dynasties.The sui and tang dynasties were the early stage of the development of brick towers,and the song,liao and jin dynasties were the middle stage of the development of brick towers and the second climax of the construction of brick towers.The jin dynasty ruled henan for a hundred years,during which a large number of brick towers were built,providing important material examples for the study of the development of brick towers in China.This paper is divided into four parts to study the origin and spread of buddhist pagodas,the related content,architectural characteristics,status quo and protection of brick pagodas in henan dynasty.The first part,the origin and eastern spread of the stupa.A brief description of when and how the Chinese character "ta" came into being.The origin of the stupa is briefly described and the architectural form of the early stupa is analyzed.This paper explores the time and process of the introduction of buddhist pagodas into China,and analyzes some changes after the introduction of buddhist pagodas into China.The second part,henan jin dynasty brick tower overview.This paper briefly introduces the construction background,construction time and geographical distribution of brick towers in henan jin dynasty,and divides the brick towers in henan jin dynasty into several tower types according to their types.The third part,the characteristics of henan jin dynasty brick tower.This paper analyzes the architectural characteristics of brick towers in henan jin dynasty from three aspects: architectural form,architectural structure,building materials and masonry method.The fourth part,the status quo and protection of brick towers in henan dynasty.This paper analyzes the existing problems of brick towers and puts forward reasonable protection schemes for each situation according to the local conditions.It is essential for the protection of Chinese ancient buddhist pagodas and Chinese traditional masonry construction technology,providing physical guarantee for the research of Chinese brick pagodas,buddhist history,art history and architectural history,and escorting the ancient architecture to better display its historical value,artistic value and religious value.
