Investigation And Research On Rural Settlement Morphology Along Weihe River

Weihe River was the Yongji Canal excavated by Emperor Yangdi in Sui and Tang Dynasties.It was an important part of the Grand Canal of China.In ancient times,water transportation was the main mode of material transportation.Weihe River communicated the Yellow River with Beijing and Tianjin.Weihe River was one of the important waterway transportation channels in history.With the change of hydrological conditions and modern transportation modes of the Weihe River,the water transport of the Weihe River has been gradually replaced.Weihe River dominates the development of settlements along its route.The settlements along the Weihe River are produced because of the good production and living environment along the Weihe River and flourish because of the convenient water transportation along the Weihe River.However,with the disappearance of the water transportation along the Weihe River,many settlements along the Weihe River are no longer prosperous,and gradually begin to decline.After the successful application of the Grand Canal in June 2014,as an important part of the heritage of the Grand Canal in China,Weihe River and its settlements along the river ushered in new opportunities for development.In recent years,the construction and development of rural settlements have been in full swing.Under the background of rural revitalization,rural settlements along the river have developed rapidly.However,many rural settlements in the development,and the Weihe River has less and less relevance,the use of the Weihe River has a great shortage,the huge value of the Weihe River itself can not be excavated regrettably.The author consults the relevant historical data,investigates the cities along the Weihe River and many villages,and makes visits to them.The author studies the historical evolution of the settlements along the Weihe River and its vicinity,and analyses the relationship between the settlements along the Weihe River and the rivers,the relationship between settlements and land transportation,the relationship between the villages and the cities,and further analyses the rural settlements and the urban agglomeration in the meso-level.The combinationrelationship between settlements,the boundary form and spatial texture of settlements are analyzed and studied from three aspects: architecture,road and node.Through the research and discussion at different levels,we have a thorough understanding of the morphological characteristics of Weihe River and its settlements along the Weihe River,and then put forward the development strategy of rural settlements along the Weihe River,hoping to provide reference and suggestions for the revitalization of rural settlements along the Weihe River.
