The construction process of ship is a tedious and long period systematic engineering, which involves many structural parts and sections. Therefore, reasonable hull segment assembly sequence can effectively reduce ship construction cycle and construction cost, and has very important practical significance for improving on-time delivery rate and overall technical level of shipbuilding industry. In this paper, the problem of hull assembly sequence planning is systematically studied as followed:Based on the characteristics of hull segment assembly, this paper systematically introduces and analyzes the methods of assembly model establishment, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of a series of current algorithms applied to hull segment assembly,It is to optimize that assembly sequence of hull by multi-population ant colony.CATIA software was applied to simulate the assembly process of hull segment, establish corresponding assembly model, plan assembly path, evaluate the formed assembly sequence, select the best solution of assembly sequence, and realize the optimization of assembly sequence.Through the assembly sequence evaluation standard based on the experience and knowledge of senior practitioners in the shipbuilding industry, the feasibility of the inferred assembly sequence was verified, and the feedback information was provided for the evaluation of the assembly sequence. It provides a solution for the assembly process designers in shipbuilding enterprises to improve the knowledge management level of assembly process and the compilation efficiency of assembly process.
