Virtual assembly technology is an important research topic in the field of virtual reality,which has attracted the attention of many researchers.In the field of engineering applications,virtual assembly has been widely popularized.The research and construction of virtual assembly platform is of great significance to accelerate the development of my country’s manufacturing industry.This article mainly studies the component positioning method in virtual assembly,the assembly sequence planning generation algorithm,and the collision detection technology based on hierarchical bounding box.In order to intuitively display the effects of these algorithms,a virtual car assembly software system was designed and implemented.First,combined with the relevant knowledge content of automobile assembly,the characteristics of the currently commonly used 3D CAD modeling software are analyzed,and finally Solid Works is used to complete the creation of the 3D model of automobile parts.Secondly,research and experiment on the key technologies involved in virtual assembly.For the virtual assembly positioning method,this paper adopts the virtual assembly positioning method based on geometric constraints and optimizes it.In terms of assembly sequence generation,an improved adaptive ant colony algorithm is proposed.The effectiveness of the algorithm in generating assembly sequences is verified through experiments.For collision detection technology,by analyzing the characteristics of various commonly used bounding box algorithms,integrating the construction of the bounding box and the intersection test,a hybrid bounding box algorithm based on Sphere-OBB is proposed,and several other bounding box algorithms are carried out The intersection test experiment shows that the hybrid bounding box algorithm has the characteristics of better compactness,higher accuracy,and less time consumption than the single bounding box algorithm,and improves the collision detection efficiency in the virtual environment.Finally,based on the research on the key technologies of virtual assembly in this paper and the comprehensive system requirements,the design and development of the virtual assembly system of the automobile is completed,and the realized virtual assembly system of the automobile is released through Unity3 D.
