Research On Landscape Design Based On Film Framing Structure

As a pioneer of avant-garde cinema,Peter Greenaway has been dedicating himself along with his work to diverse artistic elements such as painting,architecture and drama.This paper is inspired by one of his films,“The Draughtsman's Contract”-1982,aiming to discover the inevitable connections between landscape architecture and cinema these two art forms,which both are represented by spatial and temporal composition.Peter Greenaway constantly has innovations and breakthroughs,especially in the composition of the frame,containing the practice of philosophy,structuralism and post-modern theory,etc.This paper discusses the cinematic expressions of Peter Greenaway,mainly focusing on framing,spatial structure,agencement,event,the movement of camera,montage and narrative space.Concluding how these elements influence cinematic art on landscape and architectural design,and vice versa.It is the hope that this paper will play an enlightening role in the development of modern cinematic art and landscape architecture.
