Guiyang LM R&D Institute is the leading nonferrous metal R&D institute in China.It has achieved brilliant performance in the aluminum smelting industry for the past 60 years.With overcapacity in the domestic aluminum smelt ing industry,China’s domestic aluminum smelting design market has shown a trend of shrinkage.Guiyang LM R&D Institute has focused its attention on India,which has a rapid economic development and an upward trend in the industry,to pursuit a new business growth point.This article takes Guiyang LM R&D Institute to develop the Indian aluminum smelt ing design market as the research object,based on the theory of strategic management.In the analysis of the external environment,the author started with the macro-environmental analysis and industry analysis in India and explained the possible impact of the external environment on the company’s development of the Indian market.In the analysis of the internal environment,the author analyzed the current status and competitiveness of the company in the Indian market.Then,SWOT analysis was used to analyze the company’s internal strengths and weaknesses and its opportunities and threats in the Indian alum inum smelt ing des ign market.Finally,through the strategic positioning of the Indian market,formulate the strategic objectives and strategic combination of Guiyang LM Design Institute to develop Indian alum inum smelt ing design market,and provided the supporting measures from four aspects of talent,capital,technology and brand.Guiyang LM R&D Institute is one of top 100 Design Company in China.Through the study of its Indian market development strategy,this article provides ideas for other domestic companies of the same type to develop Indian market operations.
