The Research On The Impact Of Enterprise Absorptive Capacity On The Innovative Performance In The Industrial Cluster

With the development of economic globalization,industrial clusters have become the main driving force of regional economic.However,most of enterprises are in the downstream of the industrial chain.The innovation capacity is comparatively insufficient,which seriously restricts the upgrading activities and sustainable development in China's clusters.Absorptive capacity and cluster learning become essential elements to innovate and enhance competitiveness in firms.Based on the theories of industrial clusters,absorptive capacity and innovation,this article explains the connotation of absorptive capacity,cluster learning,innovation performance,etc..Then,it researches the relationship between absorptive capacity,cluster learning and innovation performance,as well as explores the impact mechanisms of enterprises innovation performance in the clusters.It is subdivided into 4 research questions.What affect does the enterprises absorptive capacity have on the innovation performance? How does the enterprises absorptive capacity effect on the cluster learning? What affect does the cluster learning have on the innovation performance? Does cluster learning play an intermediary role between the enterprises absorptive capacity and the innovation performance?The article explores to construct the theoretical model of the relationship among absorptive capacity,cluster learning and innovation performance.It also puts forward 21 research hypotheses through the summary of theories.150 valid questionnaires are collected after surveying in the clusters of Cangzhou and Handan.This article uses the software-SPSS to analyze the data of the samples and explore the relationship between variables.After the empirical research,16 proposed hypotheses are verified.There are 4 preliminary conclusions.(1)The enterprise absorptive capacity has a significant role in promoting innovative performance in industrial clusters.(2)The different dimensions of absorptive capacity affect the cluster learning.The acquisition,digestion and application abilities have a significant positive impact on the cluster learning.(3)Cluster Learning is a critical factor that may effect on the innovation performance.It is indispensable for enterprises in industrial clusters to achieve the independent innovation.(4)The enterprises' cluster learning can mediate between the absorptive capacity and innovation performance;absorptive capacity will influence the innovation performance by the means of its effect on the cluster learning.Given the theoretical analyses and empirical research conclusions,the article makes feasible suggestions to the Government and the companies in industrial clusters.Finally,it also analyzes the limitations as well as prospects for the research.
