Research On The Impact Of Project Leadership On Project Success From The Perspective Of Affiliation Oriented Organization Behavior

Project leadership is one of the key factors for project success.In order to clarify the mechanism between project leadership and project success,this paper introduced social identity and organization behavior into the study of the mechanism between project leadership and project success from the perspective of affiliation-oriented organization behavior.This thesis first proposed the models of the mediating role of social identity and organization behavior between project leadership and project success successively.The conceptual framework and item scales were based on literature review and interviews with experts.Data was collected from practitioners and researchers in Chinese construction industry with questionnaires.SPSS22.0 was adopted to deal with the data.Results showed that project leadership is positive related to social identity,organization behavior and project success;social identity and organization behavior are positive related to project success.Besides,both social identity and organization behavior partially mediate the impacting process of project leadership on project success as expected.Then,this paper extended the models of the impacting process of project leadership on project success.It was found that social identity is positive related to organization behavior.Additionally,we found that social identity and organization behavior together mediated the link between project leadership and project success,which indicated that project leadership can promote affiliation-oriented organization behavior through social identity,finally,achieving project success.
