In recent years, along with the rapid economic growth, the gap between the rich and the poor has been widening, and reducing the income gap and optimizing the income structure are the issues of close concern to the government and the people. It is expected that large scale low-income groups will also restrict the development of China's economy and the improvement of income gap.To improve the income level of low income people is not only the essential requirement of realizing common prosperity and building a well-off society in an all-round way,but also an important measure to promote the development of high quality economy and maintain social stability. Then, how to define absolute standard or relative standard for low-income groups? What are the distribution and characteristics of this group? Whether the income structure is reasonable, what are the problems? Which factors will promote or restrict the income increase of low-income groups? What are the influencing factors of low income groups changing to middle and high income groups? The answers to these questions constitute the core and key point of this article. This article is mainly based on the following aspects: the main ideas and conclusions are as follows:The definition of low income groups.Based on the relevant research on the definition of medium income group and the relevant data published by the world bank, this paper selects 67% of the median income of more than 200 countries in the world as the upper limit of the definition of the low income group. It not only guarantees the horizontal comparability of the conclusion, but also guarantees the longitudinal comparability. On the size of the low-income group.Based on the data of Chinese family dynamic tracking survey(CFPS)in 2010 and 2014,this paper finds that the scale of low income groups in 2010 and 2014 is more than 60%,indicating that China's income structure is still Pyramid type, and the proportion of low income groups is too large. The distribution and characteristics of low income groups. This study finds that low-income groups are more likely to be distributed in the Midwest andunderdeveloped rural areas.Further combined with the analysis of statistical yearbook and the analysis of CFPS data,it is found that the low income group has the characteristics of low income and consumption, large family size, low education level, less proportion of Party members and poor village economic situation. In the income structure of low income groups, the proportion of wage income is the largest, more than 60%,and four of the middle and high income groups are more than three times higher than those of the low income group, and the income gap between the two is huge. The factors affecting the income of low-income groups.Based on the data of CFPS2010 and 2014,this paper combines the fixed effect model, random effect model and Logit model to analyze the influence factors of low income groups. The results are as follows: men, age, average age of education, spouse,Party members, work situation, whether there are people out to work, urban household registration, east land The economic situation of district and village has negative effect on whether to fall into low income;family size, child support ratio and elderly support ratio have positive effect on whether to fall into low income. On the liquidity of low-income groups. The study found that from 2010 to 2014,the proportion of low income groups to middle and high income groups was 30.72%,while the proportion of middle and high income groups to low income groups was29.95%,which indicates that our society has a better social mobility.Further, the study uses multiple choice models to examine the influencing factors of the liquidity of low-income groups, and finds that migrant workers are the important reasons for the upward leap of low-income groups;family size restricts the increase of average income. The large family size is an important reason for the low income group, not the middle and high income. The reason for the change into low income groups;whether or not there are chronic diseases in the family that restricts the development of low income groups to middle and high income groups,is not the reason for the change of middle and high income groups into low income groups. At the same time, the regression results re verify the importance of education and geographical location, that is,the higher education level and the better the geo economic environment, thelower the possibility of falling into low income. To sum up,relevant policy suggestions are put forward in this paper.Maintaining economic stability, expanding employment, increasing human capital investment, improving the social security system, and increasing the policy tilt to the underdeveloped regions of the central and western regions are conducive to improving the income of low income groups in China.
