A Study On Financial Professionals Competency Framework

At the stage of rapid development of knowledge-based economy,traditional abilities of financial professionals has been unable to fully satisfy the needs of the current accounting industry.At present,there are about 20 million people engaged in financial work in our country.Among them,the low-level financial professionals oversupply while the medium and high-level financial professionals are in short supply.In order to promote the growth and development of financial talents and provide the public with high-quality financial services,it is necessary to update and enrich the ability system of financial professionals.Foreign scholars and institutions have made a lot of achievements on the research,however,our country has not yet established a systematic and complete competency framework,which is not conducive to the deepening reform of China's financial education system as well as the training of financial professionals team,nor benefit the selection,assessment and evaluation of business.Therefore,it has far-reaching theoretical and practical significance to build up the financial professionals' competency framwork with Chinese characteristics.First of all,this paper briefly reviewed researchs at home and abroad and drew lessons from competency theory in human resource management to support the research on financial professionals' competency framework.It constructed the framework from professional knowledge,vocational skills and vocational values.Secondly,it collected and collated the recruitment requirements from 600 enterprises on three levels.Combining with the method of capability factor and function analysis,this paper used text analysis to design the index system of financial competence at all levels.Then,the financial professionals at all levels are surveyed,and the data are used to construct the professional competency framework through factor analysis.Finally,from three aspects of business,education and administration section,this paper discussed the implementation of three frameworks.
