Research On The Leshan's Conditions And Paths Of Building The Central City In Southern Sichuan

With the development of economy,the formation and cooperation between cities and regions has become an important measure to enhance their overall strength and participate in the national and even global economic competition.As a regional urban agglomeration or regional economic cooperation organization,the regional central city has the strongest comprehensive strength,which plays a vital role in driving the entire regional economic development.On the basis of straightening out the relevant theories and basic concepts of regional central cities,this paper selects Leshan City as the example to carry on the empirical research by taking the prefectural regional central cities as the main research object.Based on the analysis of the basic conditions,the gap,the potential and the restrictive factors of Leshan's construction of the regional central city in southern Sichuan and the actual development of Leshan,the paper puts forward the path of constructing the regional central city in Leshan in order to provide valuable policy reference for Leshan to speed up the construction of central cities in southern Sichuan.The conclusions of the study are as follows.Firstly,Leshan has the basic condition and comparative advantage of constructing the central city of south Sichuan.Leshan is located at the junction of Chengdu,South Sichuan and Panxi economic zone and has the congenital location advantage.It has the stronger urban centrality among the five cities of southern Sichuan with the basic conditions for building regional central cities.However,the reality is that its comprehensive economic strength is limited,the driving force of economic radiation is not strong and the level of industrial development level is lower.There is still a certain gap between the formation of regional economic center and the formation of regional economic center.Secondly,in the process of constructing the central city in south Sichuan,some obvious internal and external factors restrict the development of Leshan.The main factors of internal restriction are economic radiation,the insufficiency of industry support,the low level of opening to the outside world,the weak ability of urban innovation and the incoordination of regional development.The external restrictive factors are as follows.The industrial structure of southern Sichuan is homogenized.The five cities show a low level of balanced development and the dispute between the central cities of southern Sichuan has existed for a long time.To some extent,the administrative barrier has affected the radiation and driving ability of the regional central city,the rapid rise of the surrounding prefecture-level cities has caused a certain economic squeeze on Leshan,and the centrality is facing the threat of weakening,etc.Thirdly,accelerating the promotion of urban comprehensive strength,promoting industrial optimization,strengthening cooperation with foreign countries,and coordinating regional development are the only ways for Leshan to strengthen its urban centrality and build a regional central city in southern Sichuan.
