Empirical Study On The Regional Agricultural Energy Efficiency Convergence Across Provinces In China

The limited supply of traditional fossil energy has become one of the most important problem restricting the development of China's economy.Since 1990 China's energy supply has been short of demand,and the level of energy efficiency in various provinces has hindered regional coordinated development.However,the energy problem is not the only negative impact of economic development difficulties,it makes the greenhouse gases mainly carbon dioxide discharged into the atmosphere caused by greenhouse effect.China is a big agricultural country,and its energy investment is an important part of China's energy consumption.The study of agricultural energy efficiency is an important part of coordinating regional agricultural energy efficiency and solving emission reduction.As the development of agriculture is related to geographical distribution closely,with the aid of the theory of regional convergence of economics,the research on whether there is regional convergence in the energy efficiency of provincial agriculture in China is necessary.However,the scholars who study the regional convergence theory mostly analyze the phenomenon economic convergence.Few scholars consider energy efficiency with the regional convergence theory.And there is no research on the direction of the agricultural energy efficiency.Therefore,the empirical study on regional convergence of agricultural energy use efficiency in China has become an important and urgent issue.This research mainly carries on the verification and analysis of the regional convergence of the agricultural energy efficiency level between provinces in China.This research analyzes the direction and rate of agricultural energy efficiency convergence between regions from the angle of theoretical research.It explores new endogenous dynamic models for the research of energy model.It provides scientific information guidance and theoretical support for formulating energy efficiency development policy proposals in agriculture field and responding to long-term mechanism of greenhouse gas emission reduction.Firstly,this research introduces the general situation of agricultural economic output,energy consumption and energy efficiency in China.The convergence test of provincial agricultural energy intensity was carried out respectively based on ? convergence theory,kernel density estimation method,? convergence convergence theory and absolute ? convergence theory.The results of these tests show that there is an absolute convergence of agricultural energy efficiency between provinces.In comparison with other methods,absolute ? convergence is the best method that can provide the convergence rate index value ? and complete the absolute convergence test.By calculation,the energy intensity of Chinese provincial agriculture in the 1995-2016 showed a certain absolute ? convergence,but not significant.And the convergence rate in the study period was 1.22%.Secondly,according to the theories and methods of the club convergence hypothesis,three clubs were divided according to the DEA method.The three clubs were tested based on the absolute ? convergence regression method.The results show that the convergence rate of agricultural energy intensity in the first,second and third club is 1.93%,2.25% and 5.17% respectively.The clubs show obvious regularity of geographical features,energy efficiency characteristics,transition characteristics.Finally,the analysis framework of convergence impact factor was established.Then the 64 regional convergence influence factors were tested.The regional convergence impact factors were tested and analyzed respectively for 30 provinces and three clubs.The results show that 10,10,6 and 9 of the factors affect the whole country and three clubs respectively refer to Chapter 4.According to the results of the test and analysis of the influence factors of each research area,this research makes the specific policy suggestions of regional agricultural development.
