Evaluation Study Of H Company's Purchasing Management

With the development of global economy integration,the competitions among enterprises have gradually evolved into the competitions among supply chains.Supply chain management includes integrated management on suppliers,manufacturers,warehouses,distribution centers and channel operators etc.Procurement function plays a role of bridge throughout the upstream and downstream that directly affect the enterprise's material supply,production delivery,logistics and other important links.The importance of purchasing functions in general is growing,especially for companies that are taking part in global competitions.With the development of science and technology,procurement functions are required to make corresponding changes to meet the challenges of rising costs of purchased products and services.First of all,this paper puts forward the research background and significance,summarizes and analyzes the organizations and scholars' research on procurement management from the domestic and foreign,points out supplier management,supplier selection and assessment provide a theoretical preparation for the following study.Secondly,this paper analyzes current purchasing management of H company,including purchasing organization,purchasing planning,purchasing orders placement,purchasing prices and cost control,and points out the weakness in current purchasing strategies and supplier management.Thirdly,the general performance on both purchasing process and purchasing results can be calculated,by using AHP to set up assessment metrics on purchasing management of H company,and scoring each metric,Finally,the author raise up the countermeasures for the outstanding problems combined the above performance results,especially countermeasures on purchasing organization,purchasing process,supplier management can help H company to improve their purchasing management.By doing these,H company can adapt to external environment of the markets and enhance competitiveness and influence in relative industry.The author hopes that this paper could provide good suggestions for other manufacturing enterprises to optimize the procurement management.
