At present,the competition among commercial banks in China has been in a form of diversity and superheating,which is,after all,the competition in human resources.Gathering of talents provides possibilities for innovation and creativity.As the connection between commercial banks and customers,client managers play an important role in the business,development and strategy of the commercial banks.Due to the required ability to cover various areas,great amount of attention has been paid on the building and development of the client manager team.Although training is a straightforward way to improve the working efficiency,there are still shortcomings in training the primary client managers.This paper follows the domestic and international theoretical research and practical experience in the client manager training.Along with the operating situation and resource distribution in subbranch F of Bank A,this paper aims at building up a client manager training system,studying and further developing a reasonable mode.This paper analyzes the current circumstance and existing problems of the client manager training in subbranch F of Bank A,while the causes of the problem are also fully investigated.We conclude that introducing a competency model can better resolve the current problems.For building up a competency model for a client manager,we first probe into the influence factors by interviewing with individuals,then we use questionnaires to prove our arguments.After the analysis on the reliability and validity of the questionnaire,five factors are taken into account to form a competency model,i.e.the abilities in professional acknowledge,marketing development,team cooperation,self-regulation and self-achievement,each of them is consist of a secondary indexes respectively.There are four steps to build up a client manager training system: demand analyzing,training program designing,implementation and evaluation.A competency model can be used along the processes in the training system.It is the foundation and connects individual parts of the system,making the system more reasonable and efficient.
