In the global competition of talent,human capital becomes the most valuable resource in form of knowledge workers.With the advent of the era of competitive knowledge economy,high-tech enterprises have gradually been at the forefront of this age.Knowledge workers have been the most competitive intangible value for maintaining innovation and rapid development.It is imperative to be able to attract,retain,and motivate these highly-skilled and highly-qualitied knowledge workers to serve more.The nature of relationships between knowledge workers and their employers has changed distinctly.Moreover,with high level of innovation,knowledge and skills,knowledge workers have different reward preference over traditional employees.These psychological tendencies affect the attitudes and behaviors and their relationships with their employers.On the basis of comprehensively grasping the characteristics of knowledge workers,this research makes the psychological preference of compensation as the object of empirical study and carries out questionnaire research to collect and analyze data from knowledge workers employed by high-tech enterprises.Changes in psychological compensation preference are also analyzed under three preset scenarios(working for current employer,job-hopping,and increasing work engagement).Based on these,we make suggestions on the comprehensive compensation strategy for fostering innovative high-tech enterprises.
