A Study On Sino-Kazakhstani Economic And Trade Relations Under The Belt And Road Initiative

As diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China were developing,two countries always supported stable partnership and continuously expanded the spheres of cooperation.Sino-Kazakhstani economic and trade cooperation occupies a special place in the list above,since over the past years,China remains one of the largest foreign trade partners of Kazakhstan.The Belt and Road Initiative was put forward by Chairman Xi Jinping during his visits to Central Asia and Indonesia in the fall of 2013.According to such political documents as the "Plan for socio-economic development for 2015 year" and "Report on the work of the government)),the construction of the Belt and Road was included into the list of important tasks set for the new government of People's Republic of China.Moreover,the Belt and Road will cover big part of Eurasia,connecting developing countries(or "new economies")and developed countries.In this regard,economic relations with Kazakhstan should play a crucial role in the realization and support of the development strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative.This paper analyzes and studies the economic and trade relations of two countries within the framework of the "OBOR" Initiative.The first part reflects the historical development of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and China.Furthermore,Khorgos gateway would be discussed as classic example of Sino-Kazakhstani economic and trade integration,which in turns,highlights core need and complementarity,opportunities and challenges of this integration.The second part reveals the expansion of Sino-Kazakhstani relations within the framework of this initiative,which is then followed by suggestions and by providing examples of the main principles and strategies of the program itself,paper emphases the role of Kazakhstan in it and strategic arguments for deepening cooperation.Furthermore,there is a discussion of the suggestions and difficulties on the way of integration of two countries in the framework of the Belt and Road.Due to the growth of Chinese influence in the Eurasian region,Kazakhstani side expresses the fears and anxiety,and as the solution,it is proposed to improve and strengthen Sino-Kazakhstani integration for the stability of the entire economic area.
