A Study On Dual Margin Of Zhejiang's Manufacturing Export Trade And Influence Factors

Since China accessed to the WTO,the amount of export trade in Zhejiang has been increasing.As a pillar industry in Zhejiang,manufacturing industry plays an important role in foreign trade.The increase of its export volume not only indicates the changes in the economic structure of Zhejiang province,but also an important symbol of the comprehensive strength of Zhejiang province.In the process of rapid development,some problems encountered in the export growth of manufacturing products in Zhejiang province are worth thinking.The outbreak of the financial crisis in 2008 fully demonstrated the instability of the export of industrial manufactured goods in Zhejiang.Therefore,how to change the growth mode of Zhejiang's trade deserves our deep thinking.In this context,how to speed up the change in the way of Zhejiang's trade growth is very important,and it is worth our deep thinking to become a new hot spot in the study of regional economy.The new theory of trade provides a theoretical basis for the analysis of the export growth path of the manufacturing industry in Zhejiang province from a micro perspective.The main idea of this paper is to study the internal micro structure and influencing factors of Zhejiang's manufacturing export growth by combining theory with practice,in order to promote effective and stable growth of manufacturing exports.First,on the basis of literature review and detailed research,the research can be divided into three directions:the contribution of dual margins to the growth of trade,the influence factors of two dual margins and the benefits of trade.The continuous improvement of literature provide a broad perspective for future scholars.The research on the dual margins in China is still in its early stage,which still has great research space and value in this field.But the previous literature on a province is relatively less,regional research has not been involved.Therefore,this paper tries to find out the conjunction point between Zhejiang's manufacturing export problem and the dual margins,and qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the export problem of manufacturing products from the perspective of new-new trade theory.Secondly,this paper introduces the method of calculating the dual margins and analyzes the dual margins of its export growth.The paper uses Hummels and Klenow(2005)decomposition method to objectively analyze the dual marginals situation of Zhejiang's manufacturing export products,mainly from two aspects,products and enterprises.On the one hand,we decompose the product from the perspective of products,and find out the main products of Zhejiang's manufacturing exports.We conclude that the main factors affecting the manufacturing industry in Zhejiang are intensive margins,and the marginal expansion has almost no effect.The second aspect is to analyze the export situation of Zhejiang's manufacturing industry from the perspective of enterprises.From the selected 30 industries,we can conclude that the factors that influence the export of Zhejiang's manufacturing industry are intensive margins,and the marginal expansion has little effect.The empirical part analyzes the influencing factors of the dual margins of Zhejiang's manufacturing exports,mainly from the theoretical framework of Kancs(2007),combined with China's actual situation,Panel data is used to do empirical research,and the influence mechanism of export market scale,trade cost,productivity and FDI on the dual margins is investigated,the results show that the factors that affect the dual margins are different,indicating that the formulation of the policy should also have different tendencies.Finally,based on the research results,this paper puts forward some suggestions to promote the balanced growth of the dual margins of the export growth of the manufacturing industry in Zhejiang province,it includes improving technological progress,implementing market diversification stragegy,giving full play to the effect of FDI,reducing the cost of export,promoting the role of R&D investment and speed up the transformation of products to the quality.
