The Impact Of Information System And Decision Making On Organizational Performance-A Study On Private Banks In Djibouti

The study is purposed to shed light on the impact of management information systems and managerial decision-making on the performance of private banks in Djibouti.Moreover,the study also attempts to determine the degree and role of management information systems in the quality of management decisions in private banks in Djibouti.To get accurate information,we have selected a quantitative methodology where a questionnaire was conducted in 2 banks: SALAM BANK and BANK OF AFRICA with a sample of 120.The analysis was divided in two parts.The first part follows the descriptive statistical analysis about respondent background.The second part is about testing three hypotheses with linear regression analysis.Testing the three hypotheses explored the significant impact of information system on organizational performance,of decision making on the organizational performance,and of information system on decision making.The regression analysis shows the positive impact of the information systems and decision making on the organizational performance.The most important finding of this study is the importance of the presence of an information technology department,the appointment of specialized personnel and their participation in the development of the general policies of the organization.After analyzing the reliability and testing the hypotheses,the analysis shows that the independent variables have a big impact on the performance of the company.Therefore a lack of information system will consequently impact the performance and the decision-making.The study recommends that it is highly important to improve information system in order to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and managerial decision making in banks in Djibouti.
