With the deepening of global economic integration,the development of the airport economy has become a new point of regional economic growth.The airport economic zone,as a new economic form,relies on an integrated air transport system to bring together a variety of elements and produce powerful agglomeration and radiation effects on the surrounding areas.Breaking the law of past industry transfer and using high-end industrial clusters as the driving force for the development of the airport economic zone has become a key driver for the rapid development of the regional economy and a key node for integration into the global industrial chain,so as to achieve a leap-forward development of the regional economy.During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period,China's civil aviation industry has developed rapidly,and the strategic position of the civil aviation industry has become increasingly prominent.The "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" clearly stated that it is necessary to develop the "Three Networks" to develop the "Three Networks" as the main line for the development of a strong civil aviation country,and to accelerate the formation of industrial gathering areas and demonstration areas in the Yangtze River Delta,Pearl River Delta and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regions.Therefore,the development of the airport economic zone has become a national strategy.Research on the development of the airport economic zone and the optimization of the regional industrial structure are of great practical significance.Based on the relevant literatures of the domestic and foreign airport economic zones,this paper proposes the development of the airport economic zone and promotes the optimization of the regional industrial structure based on the growth pole theory,industrial cluster theory and industrial structure optimization theory.Taking the example of Shanghai as an example,the empirical analysis has verified that the development of the airport economic zone has a positive effect on the regional industrial structure and draws the following four conclusions:(1)The optimization ofthe industrial structure of the airport economic zone and its area mainly depends on the industrial cluster effect and radiation effect brought about by the rapid development of the air transport industry.(2)Industrial clusters in the airport economic zone show different development trends due to their regional advantages and endowment resources.(3)The concentration of quality elements in the airport economic zone will bring together a considerable amount of talents,technologies,and funds so that the production resources of a single enterprise in the airport economic zone will become the shared resources of the regional enterprises.(4)In the early stage of the construction of the airport economic zone,the government must play a leading role and do a good job in overall planning,development strategy and infrastructure construction,and strengthen platform construction.In the end,the article proposes policy suggestions on optimizing the industrial structure of the airport economic zone from four aspects: building a hub,coordinating resources,building features,and building a platform.
