Study On The Media Construction And Reshaping Of Animal Image And Animal Conception

People do not live in a vacuum.According to the theory of symbolic interaction,people's cognition of animal images and the formation of animal conception are influenced by the interaction between people in the society and media spectacle.For animals,not everyone has a professional and comprehensive understanding,therefore,compared with the interaction between people,the media has played a more important role,affecting people's definition and construction of animal world.In order to explore the role of media as an intermediary in human-animal relations,this master's thesis,guided by the multidisciplinary research theory of communication,sociology and ecology,uses text analysis,case study and historical analysis,conducts the research focusing on CCTV's Animal World,discusses the construction of animal images in Animal World,analyzes the communication of animal conception and the reshaping of Chinese people's animal conception by Animal World,demonstrates the secondary communication mode of animal conception in Animal World and its influences on the audience's behavior.The findings are as follows: firstly,the animal images in Animal World are constructed by the interaction of anthropomorphizing and distancing,which reflects the interaction between nature and culture.Secondly,the construction of animal images has laid a foundation for the communication of animal conception.The animal conception in Animal World includes respect,compassion and understanding for animals.Besides,human beings are equal to animals,human beings need to protect animals,human beings should question the paranormal animals.Thirdly,the animal conception in Animal World collides and mixes with the traditional Chinese animal conception,then reshapes the traditional animal conception of Chinese people.It isembodied in the following aspects: in the orientation of animal identity,the concept of animal as moral reference is reshaped into the concept of animal as equal subject;in the aspect of animal practice,the rational use of animals is remade as active protection of animals,the deconstruction of the paranormal animals is completed.Fourthly,after the mass communication,the animal conception in Animal World has been further spread.In the family,through the form of cultural feedback,the animal conception in Animal World is transmitted from the younger generation to the older generation.In the neighborhood,through the consultation and solution of environment problems,the animal conception in Animal World spreads to each other in the neighborhood.Between teachers and students,through teachers' science popularization education,the animal conception in Animal World is spread to the young generation.Fifthly,the animal conception in Animal World does not just stay on the level of consciousness,the audience of Animal World put it into practice by protecting animal,raising pets and forming a hobby related to animals.
