While accelerating the development of networks and providing varieties of services,the traditional network architecture also encounters several bottlenecks including complex deployment,burdensome configuration tasks,low-efficient management and weak controllability.The traditional network architecture cannot meet the needs of expanding businesses and services in the private campus networks.Also,it poses a critical challenge to network administrators.Driven by the trend of network development and the demand of private network management,this thesis introduces SDN(Software Defined Networking)into the design of the private campus networks.As new network architecture,SDN aims to improve the management efficiency of the private campus networks and enhance the quality of service for important businesses in the private campus networks,thereby promoting the innovation of the whole campus network.This thesis firstly investigates and analyzes the current research status of the private network management at home and abroad,and puts forward the research content of this thesis based on the existing achievements and problems.Then considering the poor quality of service of businesses in the private campus networks,this thesis conducts research on the strategy of path determination and bandwidth guarantee based on SDN,proposing solutions to the problem of insufficient transmission bandwidth for important businesses from the view of mathematical modeling.Then the reasonability and effectiveness of the strategy model are verified using theoretical and quantitative methods.For the demand of managing the private campus networks,this thesis designs the authentication process for users and hosts accessing the private networks.On the basis of sending the first packet to the controller in SDN,permissions that users can use to access resources in the private networks are granted and managed by determining users' access permissions to certain private networks.On the other hand,the research results of the strategy of path determination and bandwidth guarantee based on SDN are applied to the design of the private campus networks.Along with the supplemental bandwidth guarantee module,this system can offer guarantee for the demand of transmission bandwidth and quality of service for important businesses carried by the private networks.Based on the above research on the strategy modeling and the design of the system prototype,this thesis develops the private campus networks based on SDN,and tests its performance in the virtual network environment built in Mininet.The experiment results indicate that the private campus networks based on SDN can enable the private networks to support new businesses with the least operation and flexibly manage users and hosts in the private campus networks.Meanwhile,it can offer bandwidth guarantee for businesses carried by the private networks.The private campus networks based on SDN can also work in the IPv6 next generation Internet environment.All advantages encourage our university to bring in innovative methods of managing the private networks as well as improve the private networks' quality of service.
