Self-driving brings the evolution for the society as the next generation of intelligent transportation mode,and the environmental sensor such as millimeter wave radar,lidar,camera and ultrasonic probe plays an important role in self-driving.As one of the important environmental sensors,it is significant to study the millimeter wave radar.Compared with other vehicle detectors,millimeter wave radar vehicle detectors have the advantages of convenient installation,good detection performance and strong anti-interference ability.The K-band LFMCW(Linear Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave)millimeter wave vehicle radar is researched in this paper.The signal processing methods are analyzed,and the signal processing circuit based on DSP is designed to achieve the software process of radar signal processing.According to the principle of LFMCW radar ranging and velocity measurement,the signal processing algorithm of LFMCW radar is studied.A mathematical model is established to analyze the time-domain characteristics of the difference beat signal,and the radar fuzzy function of single period frequency-modulated triangular wave is analyzed.Based on chip as TMS320C6748,the design cycle for hardware design of baseband signal processing platform is proposed,including the detailed analysis of working characters in the ADC(Analog to Digital Converter)module,DAC(Digital to Analog Converter)module,baseband signal processing circuit,intermediate frequency amplifier circuit and command control circuit.The workflow and control of K-band radar are also realized by software.Finally the DSP baseband signal processing board are connected to the radar sensor for system check.The measured data prove the feasibility of signal processing algorithms.Experimental verification of K-band vehicle detection radar was carried out,and the widening effect of static single target and multi-target frequency band with distance was tested.The relationship between baseband signal frequency and ranging accuracy is analyzed and the strong correlation between baseband signal frequency and ranging accuracy is verified.The influence of modulation waveform on the measurement results of moving target is analyzed experimentally and the variable period modulated triangular wave is determined to be the the ideal waveform for moving target.
