In order to solve the problem of real-time processing and transmission of images,the amount of data to be processed and transmitted is too large,resulting in bandwidth congestion and waste of resources.This paper starts with image grading compression and uses quantization and grading to achieve progressive compression of images.The method first preprocesses the metadata image,then transforms the preprocessed data,and then quantizes the obtained transform coefficients,and the Huffman coding method is used to encode the quantized image data,and the obtained code stream is progressively transmitted.Finally,the terminal decodes according to the received code stream,and progressively displays the compressed reconstructed image of the transmission.The received code stream is gradually improved,and the obtained image is gradually clear,thereby satisfying real-time processing and transmission.Under the premise of not affecting the image quality,the image compression technology not only realizes the compression of the content of the image,but also utilizes the progressive transmission of the code stream to solve the bottleneck of the transmission occupied channel width.In this paper,the partial redundancy information of the image is removed by transform technique,and then the quantized grading is used to perform Huffman coding on the image to achieve progressive compression.The transformation methods mainly used in this paper are discrete cosine transform(DCT)and discrete wavelet transform(DWT),and implemented based on DCT and DWT image progressive compression algorithm,and compared with the above two algorithms,compared to DCT transform compression,based on DWT compression is not only in the frequency domain,but also in the time domain.It can completely cover the entire image through translation and scaling.It can get better compression effect by using DWT compression,and the peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)value is higher,and it can be solved the "block effect" that occurs when DCT image compression.
