Research On Narrative Of Observational Variety Shows

In recent years,all kinds of variety shows have become popular on the screen,and the diversification of audience demand also makes variety shows constantly innovate.The observation variety show "show life on the first spot,analyze life on the second spot" is widely praised for its novel program form,the real expression of stars' private lives and the topic setting that arouses a wide range of emotional resonance,which satisfies the audience's aesthetic and emotional needs.The year 2018 can be called the first year of observation variety shows.Hunan satellite TV was the first to launch "My Son",with a double success in audience rating.At the beginning of 2019,various TV channels and video websites have launched one after another,and "My Daughter" stands out among many shows due to its unique narrative style and sophisticated production level.The first episode of the program won the first audience rating and extremely high discussion heat at the same time,and obtained the mainstream media such as guangming network thumb up,has become a phenomenon variety show.This paper takes "My Daughter" as the research object,USES the case study method and the text analysis method," ‘My Daughter' is how to carry on the narrative " as the core issue to carry on the research.From the perspective of narratology,this paper studies the narrative characteristics of "my daughter" from two aspects: narrative story and narrative discourse,starting from the story/discourse dichotomy of classical narratology.From the perspective of narrative story,"My Daughter" focuses on the solitary life of single youth in narrative theme,discusses social hot spots,and transmits good values.In the narrative plot,the real record of daily life,the star guest humanization,arouse the audience's emotional resonance;At the same time,the program adopts the narrative structure combining the two-layer narrative and the block-stylenarrative,which enhances the audience's sense of participation and satisfies the viewing demands of different audiences.In terms of narrative discourse,the novel achieves a balance between subjectivity and objectivity through the combination of narrative perspectives of zero focus,external focus and internal focus.Through the distinction between the implicit narrator and the explicit narrator,the program introduces the audience into the narrative situation in the cross-narrative of the multiple narrative subjects.In terms of narrative symbols,the use of background music can enhance the atmosphere of the program,and the timely insertion of special effect subtitles can effectively convey the program information and assist the narration.As one of the most representative observational variety shows in China,"My Daughter" can be used as a reference for other similar programs in China in the aspects of the communication of narrative theme,the balance of narrative perspective and the grasp of narrative structure.However,the program "My Daughter" also needs to broaden the perspective of observation,enrich the narrative topic and increase the content of the program in the future development.Strengthen the ability of innovation,explore the emerging model,avoid the homogenization of narrative;Improve the narrative skills,ensure the reality of the program,pursue the long-term development of the program,become a better quality observation variety show.
