Traditional phased array antennas mostly use side-emitting arrays,whose radiation direction is perpendicular to the aperture direction of the antenna,so large aperture area is needed to obtain large gain.For limited platforms such as airborne platforms,this characteristic greatly restricts the electrical performance of antennas,and traditional radar antenna arrays have larger size and weight.For platforms with higher load-bearing capacity and larger volume requirements,it will be difficult to install on airborne platforms.Complex power distribution networks and TR components are also more expensive and complex to install.The maximum radiation direction of the end-fire antenna is along the direction of array arrangement,so the aperture area is not sacrificed in order to obtain high gain.and it is easy to install on various high-speed motion platforms because of its low profile,low air resistance and conformal ability.Based on this,this paper designs a new type of end-fire phase-sweep array antenna which can be applied to airborne platform.The content is divided into five parts as follows:The basic principle and characteristics of terminal antenna are introduced.Based on the classical theory of end-fire array,the design and problem analysis of end-fire array and its research and popularization are systematically introduced.The end-fire antenna is designed and arrayed.Firstly,according to the requirement of antenna,the element form of antenna is designed,and the array analysis is carried out.Through the requirement of scanning angle and coupling performance,a 10-element phase-swept end-fire array antenna is designed.The simulation shows that the antenna element and array have good performance and meet the expected requirements.Modeling and simulation analysis are carried out by HFSS and other electromagnetic simulation software.The antenna element is simulated to meet the expected requirements,and then the array simulation analysis is carried out to make the antenna meet the overall standards.The antenna is processed and tested.On the premise of the completion of the previous simulation,the antenna is processed,and the antenna sample is tested and analyzed.The phase sweep performance of the end-fire antenna array is verified by comparing with the simulation results.In this paper,through theoretical research,simulation design,physical processing,testing and validation analysis,the research of horizontal phase-swept end-fire antenna is completed,and the follow-up summary analysis and prospects are given.
