With the development of wireless technology,the demand for wide band,miniaturization and integration of microwave devices has been proposed.As one of the most basic microwave components,couplers are widely used in microwave measurement,mixers,phase shifters,antenna systems and so on.Based on the substrate integrated waveguide?SIW?technology,a half-mode substrate integrated ridged waveguide?HMSIRW?wide-wall coupled 90°directional coupler and three kinds of substrate integrated ridged waveguides?SIRW?hybrid ring couplers are studied.The main tasks are as follows:Firstly,based on the SIW resonator,the equivalent width of the SIW resonator is obtained from the dominant mode TE101 mode resonance frequency calculated by HFSS and the equivalent width formula is fitted by 1stOpt1.5 developed by 7D-Soft High Technology Inc.During the range of 10GHz to 50GHz,the formula is brief and the relative error is less than 1%,which lays a foundation for the design of HMSIRW coupler.Secondly,based on the theory of directional coupler,the HMSIRW wide-wall coupled90°directional coupler working in Ku-band is studied.Compared with the SIW narrow-wall coupled directional coupler,the width is reduced by about 75%and the miniaturization is realized.At the same time,the relative bandwidth is increased by 12%.The experimental results verify the correctness of the design and simulation.Thirdly,based on the theory of hybrid ring coupler,SIRW hybrid ring coupler,HMSIRW hybrid ring coupler and HMSIRW inverter hybrid ring coupler working in Ku-band are studied.Compared to the SIW hybrid ring coupler,the relative bandwidth of the SIRW hybrid ring coupler is increased by 4.2%,and the relative bandwidth of the HMSIRW hybrid ring coupler is increased by 14.4%.The HMSIRW inverter is obtained by improving the coupling structure of the HMSIRW wide-wall coupling 90°directional coupler and short-circuiting the through port and the coupling port.Compared to the standard 1.5?g hybrid ring coupler,the perimeter of HMSIRW inverter hybrid ring coupler is shortened by 33.3%,the area is reduced by about 50%,and the miniaturization is achieved.The experimental results verify the correctness of the design and simulation.
