With the development of computer network communication and multimedia technology,video on demand(VOD)has become an important way for people to obtain information and daily entertainment.However,the computational resources,network resources and storage resources required by VOD system are becoming huger,which has become the bottleneck of its development.Although the content delivery network and P2 P have been developed,the cost of server deployment in the content delivery network is heavy,and the maintenance of multiple servers is difficult.P2 P technology needs the participation and sharing of users,so it is difficult to guarantee the quality of service of users.In recent years,cloud computing supports flexible and scalable resource services,which provides a new way to promote the development of VOD.This thesis studies the key technologies and prototype system of VOD system based on cloud computing.The main research is divided into three aspects:(1)This thesis designs a system structure of VOD system based on cloud computing,which includes the main functional modules of content management,storage and replica management,streaming media transmission and task scheduling,Android terminal application.A storage and replica management scheme that combines access characteristics and popularity is proposed.(2)An energy consumption optimization scheduling algorithm for streaming media transmission in cloud computing environment is proposed.By calculating the task duration and scheduling based on it,the corresponding experiments show that the algorithm can optimize energy consumption without affecting the quality of service.(3)This thesis implements the prototype of VOD system based on cloud computing.The server side adopts Java Web technology and the client side uses Android platform.The prototype of VOD system is tested and verified,and the test results show that the prototype system implements the function of system design and has good practical value.
