Distributed radar networking at sea or in the air usually relies on wireless communications.Due to the complex electromagnetic environment of the battlefield, the symbol error probability of wireless communication is usually as high as 10-2.In order to achieve distortion-free transmission of information, channel coding and retransmission are usually employed.Although this method guarantees the reliability of transmission,it also causes a large amount of communication overhead.Considering that the goal of signal detection systems is signal detection rather than pure distortion-free communication, this paper investigates the problem of low-communication between detectors and fusion centers in distributed detection systems. This paper first introduces the relevant theory and research status of distributed signal detection.Second, design a low-traffic transmission scheme. The relationship between traffic and system detection performance is measured by defining communication improvement coefficients and performance loss coefficients. The central idea of this strategy is that in order to effectively transmit the decision information of the local detector,a method of slightly reducing the detection performance of the fusion center can be adopted to save communication cost and realize distributed signal detection under low traffic. Then, under different conditions of transmission model, fusion criterion and node performance, the adaptability of the method is verified. Finally, the transmission strategy is applied to the actual radar network. The power range of the radar network is used as an indicator to judge the performance of the system. The degree of loss of the power range of the radar network and the degree of reduction of the traffic are studied. We evaluated the radar deployment mode used in different radar deployment modes. It has been found that in many cases, there is an area where the system detection performance is insensitive to the communication capability. In this area, even if a large amount of communication cost is retransmitted, the system performance cannot be greatly improved, and the channel resources are limited. In this case,it is impossible to bear such a large communication cost. The transmission strategy is used to properly encode the channel, and the communication cost is greatly reduced under the premise of slightly sacrificing the system detection performance.Applying thetransmission strategy to the radar network can provide a solution for the design of efficient communication strategies in multi-radar wireless networking, which has obvious military significance.
