Infrared array scanning system has the advantages of good environmental adaptability,strong anti-jamming ability,high resolution and good concealment,and is gradually getting more and more widely used,therefore,it has high application value for the research of infrared dim and small target detection technology based on area array scanning system.Firstly,this paper introduces the imaging principle and characteristics of the area array scanning system.The imaging characteristics of the area array scanning system place high demands on target detection technology.Then it introduces the work flow of the array scanning system,and introduces the components and functions of each part of the system.Finally,it points out the core and key parts of this paper,which lays the foundation for the following chapters.The core content of this paper is the research of infrared dim small target detection algorithm based on array scanning system,including dim small target enhancement algorithm and dim small target detection algorithm.Firstly,the infrared dim small target enhancement algorithm is studied,and three kinds of dim small target enhancement algorithms are investigated,which are simulated in MATLAB.According to the simulation results,the dim and small targets are enhanced by the way of corrosion first,then median filtering and finally expansion.In this paper,the infrared dim small target detection algorithm is studied.Firstly,the common Susan,Harris,FAST corner detection algorithm is introduced,and the above common corner detection algorithms are simulated in MATLAB.According to the results of simulation,the FAST corner detection algorithm is selected as the dim small target detection algorithm in this paper.Then the FAST corner detection algorithm is improved because it relies on artificial threshold setting.The main idea is to generate a suitable dynamic threshold for FAST target detection when any pixel of an infrared image is the center point to be measured.The improved adaptive threshold FAST algorithm can automatically generate the appropriate threshold according to different environments,avoiding the redundancy or loss of infrared dim small target caused by improper selection of threshold.The key part of this paper is to realize the above dim and small target enhancement algorithm and detection algorithm on FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array),simulate in Modelsim,and test the algorithm on the hardware platform in real time.The test results show that the average detection rate of the dim and small target enhancement and detection algorithm in this paper is 98.38%,and the average false alarm rate is 3.31%.Compared with the traditional detection algorithm,it has a higher detection rate and a lower false alarm rate.The dim and small target detection technology based on FPGA in this paper is about 11961.30 times of the traditional dim and small target detection technology based on FPGA + DSP in terms of algorithm processing time performance.Therefore,the detection method in this paper can accurately and quickly detect dim and small targets according to one frame of image information,which is suitable for the area array scanning system.
