The Alternate Reality Games is a multimedia interactive game that uses the real world as a platform and integrates various virtual game elements.Players can personally participate in role-playing.Mainly,the game industry is faced with the social problem of children and adolescents indulging in games,and it is a useful exploration to cultivate the social responsibility of children and adolescents.Alternate Reality Games were born before 2000,and have been used in teaching abroad,and confirmed that Alternate Reality Games have a positive impact on the growth of children and adolescents and the development of social responsibility.The current domestic games are mainly commercial electronic games,mostly preschool puzzle games or adult-oriented e-sports games,and lack of game categories that guide children and adolescents to pay attention to society and life.Faced with this situation,this article adopts a comprehensive cross-research method for children and adolescents as a special user group,and delves into the design research and design practice of such games,with a view to providing domestic alternate reality games as a useful supplement to children and youth environmental education references and basis.This article mainly includes the following three core parts:One is the user research part.Through two channels of online research and offline field research,a variety of comprehensive qualitative research methods such as interviews and observation methods are used to assist with the analysis of big data research reports.Describe the characteristics of users from four aspects: personality,life state,interests and hobbies,and game life.The second is the design and research part of alternate reality games.First,it is to explain the concept of Alternate Reality Games,adopting cross-research methods such as literature research method and case analysis method.From the research on the relationship between virtual world and real world in Alternate Reality Games,different classification methods,and the technical foundation of realization,etc.,we have a deep understanding of parallel reality connotation and basic environment for social services of environment games,summarize the main content of alternate reality games,and lay the foundation for grasping the essence and operation rules of Alternate Reality Games.Secondly,it puts forward the design strategy of Alternate Reality Games,including: analyzing the three core elements(media,narrative structure and social)of Alternate Reality Games;constructing the logical framework of Alternate Reality Games;guided by the three design goals of playability,adaptability and expansibility,it obtains the design strategy of prolonging the life cycle of Alternate Reality Games,and puts forward the design strategy for children's youth Youth's Alternate Reality Games design ideas.The third is the design practice research part of the Alternate Reality Games.The author builds the world view of the game from the appearance layer,structural layer and thought layer,sets the game system and information architecture diagram according to the world view and completes the interactive design,and then completes the visuals of the game icons(Logo),characters and scenes,camp badges and the complete game interface design and produce animated game videos.Finally got this parallel reality game for children and adolescents-"Rubbish War",it is a role-playing type of camp-based competition gameplay type,players collect real-life different types(classifications)of garbage in various ways Earn points and badges to contribute to the victory of your camp.After the game design is completed,the author conducts online interviews with many children and adolescent users to summarize their feedback and improvement opinions on game design.And register a developer account,upload game animation videos,etc.to the domestic well-known game community Tap Tap platform for more than a month.The game currently has 367 reservations,a total score of 9.9,and 16 positive reviews.The overall response is good.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: First,the user portraits of children and adolescents are initially obtained from the four aspects of personality characteristics,lifestyle,hobbies and game life.Second,in-depth analysis of the development and operation of Alternate Reality Games,to get a design strategy to extend the life cycle of alternate reality games,and put forward ideas for alternate reality games design for children and adolescents.Third,based on the design strategy and ideas for the design and practice of Alternate Reality Games,I designed a parallel reality game("Rubbish War")that permeates the concept of environmental protection,and guides children and adolescents to develop the habits of garbage classification through games.Overall,this game is well received and expected by most children and young players.
