In recent years, with the rapid development of information transmission and sensing technology, the performance requirements of phased array systems have become higher.Phased array system have replaced traditional mechanical radar and antenna systems with its flexibility, speed, and accuracy, and are widely used in military, aerospace, automotive radar, and wireless communications. As an important part of the phase control unit, the phase shifter's performance determines the performance of the entire phased array system. Therefore, researching and designing a high-performance,miniaturized phase shifter has important significance for improving the performance of the phased array system..This thesis investigates and analyzes the current situation of phase shifters at home and abroad, introduces the important technical indicators of phase shifters and their basic working principles, and analyzes the active/passive components used in the phase shifter design in this thesis, and main work and innovation are as follows 1)For the large phase shift unit, the high/low-pass filter structure is suitable.Considering passive device size and other issues, medium phase shift unit adopt band/low-pass filter structure.A small phase shift unit is designed using a switch network structure. Finally, based on the 0.15 um GaAs pHEMT process,a 6-bit digital phase shifter working in the Ku band is designed. The circuit realized a 360 ° phase shift amount in the Ku band, and the minimum phase shift step was 5.625 °.Different phase shifting units adopt different structures for problems such as size, phase error, and phase consistency, which improves the overall performance of the phase shifter.2)Aiming at the problems of miniaturization and phase-shifting accuracy, the composite right/left hand transmission line is used in the design of the phase-shifting unit, based on the 0.15 um GaAs pHEMT process,a 6-bit digital-analog hybrid phase shifter working in the Ka band is designed. The converter has four phase shifting units, which reduces two chip shifting units compared with the traditional 6-bit digital phase shifter, thereby reducing the chip area. The 180 ° phase shift unit is implemented with a balun structure, and the gain is compensated by a single-stage amplifier. The 90 ° and 45 ° phase shift units are implemented with high/low-pass filter structure. The analog phase shift unit is continuously adjustable in the range of 0 ? 45 °.The circuit achieves 360 ° phase shift in the frequency range of 37-42 GHz,and has less phase error and loss than the first circuit.
