Research On Capture And Analysis Of User Behaviors In Mobile Applications

Mobile applications(APP)have penetrated into all aspects of people's daily life.In industrial product design and development projects,it is a very important task to study the user experience of applications to guide product design and innovation.At present,due to the limitations of traditional user research methods,there is still a large blind spot in the understanding and research of user behavior in applications(operation and use of App functions),which is an urgent problem to be solved.Based on CAUX,a context-awareness user data collection tool,the author explored and established a method for capturing and analyzing user behavior in APP,and verified the effectiveness and application value of the method.The work of this paper is divided into three parts:(1)User behavior capture in APP:On CAUX,a context-awareness user data collection tool,the capture function of user behavior in APP is designed and developed through the technology of context awareness,screen recording,timed screenshot,image comparison,etc.(2)User behavior analysis in APP:Use statistical analysis methods to establish three types of indicators to analyze user behavior data,and display the user's task execution characteristics,function usage characteristics and crowd classification through charts;Use the CPrefixSpan algorithm based on context information to mine the frequent task execution paths of users in different contexts,and compare the expected paths to discover singularities,thereby helping to discover user experience problems and needs in specific contexts.(3)Validation of the method:Select the user research project of Netease Youdao dictionary application as the case,and 13 users were taken as the research samples to conduct a one-month observation study on user behavior.The results of the study found 15 user behavior rules and 14 UX problems,which can provide valuable guidance for product design and operation strategy.The research results show that,according to the user research sample size and privacy protection practices,which is common in industrial product design and development practice,the method of user behavior capture and analysis established in this paper can capture the user behavior data in 7*24 hours with high data accuracy.Through semi-automatic data analysis,we can understand the general rules of users' behavior,and find out the user experience problems and needs hidden in the context and behavior details.All of these are difficult to achieve with current user research methods common in industry.This makes a meaningful exploration for user research method innovation.This paper will introduce my work from five aspects:research background,related work at home and abroad,method exploration,method establishment and application case verification.
