Multidimensional data research direction is an importanti in the field of information visualization.In the research of multidimensional data visualization,there has always been a problem: which visualization method is more suitable for 2D and 3D visualization? With the development of AR/VR technology and the replacement of wearable devices,immersive visualization has also been drawn into this discussion.In order to explore the advantages and disadvantages of immersive visualization and desktop visualization methods in the field of multidimensional data visualization,this paper is based on Microsoft's MR equipment HoloLens,through data collection,visualization method selection,visual design and implementation,experimental content design,experimental results analysis to discuss the impact of immersive visualization and desktop visualization conditions on visualization.This paper explores the impact of 2D desktop,3D desktop,and immersive visualization on visualization methods.This paper proposes an evaluation model based on information gain,assuming that the semantic information of the data will affect user's ability to perceive the data under different visualization conditions.Therefore,We selects two data sets,one is data containing semantic information,and the other is randomly generated abstract data.The paper made assumptions for three visualization conditions and designed several experimental projects for verification.Finally,the experimental results are discussed and analyzed.This research aims to explore the role of HoloLens-based immersive visualization methods in the field of information visualization,which is divided into three areas:(1)Propose the assumption that the semantic information affects the user's perception,and propose an evaluation model for three visualization conditions based on the hypothesis.(2)Design a multi-dimensional data visualization task to compare the performance of the two platforms,and evaluate the universal performance and efficiency in the interaction process under three visualization conditions.(3)Evaluate the results of the experimental participants and analyze the reasons.This paper designs a user feedback survey,and adds the subjective factors that are often needed in the visual assessment process to form a closed-loop evaluation system.Specifically,this article will evaluate the performance of 2D desktop,3D desktop,and immersive visualization environments for multidimensional data visualization research.,that can provide new display platforms and assistive technologies for visual research.
