With the advance of big data technologies,data generates more impact to every aspect of modern life and data analysis becomes an effective tool to extract useful insights from this rapidly developing field.Based on the publication data of emerging scientific disciplines,the analysis of their growth trajectories can expose the trends and future directions.Therefore,provide us with useful information and guidance how the disciplines evolve.This paper has studied the publication data of Data Science(DS)and Artificial Intelligence(AI)from several angles:(1)Analyzing the publication data of DS from SCOPUS database,this research verifies the exponential growth law of Lips in terms of the publication output and predicts the publication volume for the next five years,and classify the countries into different categories based on publication records in the field of DS for different time periods.Explore the positions of top research institutions with large fluctuations from the changes in the rankings of publication records,and find out the leading institutions in the field of DS in different time periods.(2)Based on the publication data of AI from SCOPUS database and WOS database,the exponential growth law of Lips is verified by the total number of publications,and the regression model in terms of publication numbers and time is established.Based on authorships of publication data,we analyze the relationship between the authors and the number of publications,and cluster the research institutions that take the leading positions in the field of AI in different time periods according to the ranking changes of the publication data.To determine which factors of years,cited frequency,and download volume are crucial indicators to the quality of publications in the field of AI.By searching data related to DS and AI,the bibliometric method is used to analyze and study publication data from several angles.Through the investigation of distribution and development of relevant publications,the research status and development trend in these two fields are studied.The results from this study may provide insights and guidance for the trends and directions of the emerging disciplines such as DS and AI in the era of Big Data.52 references.
