Exhibits and exhibitions are the most important educational projects of the Science and Technology Museum. It is necessary to evaluate exhibits and exhibitions. The theoretical and practical research on the effect evaluation of education projects of science and technology museum in China started late. Most of them refer to the research of this field in the western and museum evaluation theory. The relevant research is relatively scattered and lacks adaptability to the national conditions and the characteristics of science and technology museums. The evaluation methods and techniques are relatively simple, and most of the evaluation practices are limited to the use of technical means such as questionnaires and interviews, and there are few applied research of Tracking&Timing.Based on the research of domestic and foreign related research, this study uses Tracking&Timing to track and observe 50 audiences, collects quantitative and qualitative information in both time and behavior dimensions, and evaluates the effect of the “Internet of Things” technology exhibition hall of D Science and Technology Museum. This study draws the following conclusions for the assessment object: The “Internet of Things” technology exhibition hall has not reached the good level of “full use” of the exhibition hall(DV%: 32%<51%;SRI: 916>300),and there is still lots of room for improvement.Compared to women, the content of the exhibition hall is more attractive to male audiences. In this exhibition hall, interactive operation exhibits account for the majority and they are extremely interactive. The audience is very willing to interact with the exhibits, but some of the exhibits do not allow the audience to operate correctly. The exhibits can only achieve or not achieve the expected results of science education.Of the22 exhibits, there are only eight exhibits that can basically perform their core functions. And it is found that the interactive operation exhibits that are simple in operation, unique in appearance, low in failure rate, and requiring the viewer to spend some time to receive operational feedback are more likely to attract viewers and stay in the audience. This provides a premise for exhibits to change the audience's perception of science. In response to the problems arising in the “Internet of Things” technology exhibition hall, this study proposes the following recommendations:(1)Strengthen the orientationand guidance of interactive operation exhibits;(2)Strengthen the adaptability of exhibits and exhibiting forms, strengthen the diversity and comprehensiveness of dynamic presentation methods;(3)Strengthen the transmission of science theories;(4)Strengthen the management and maintenance of exhibits;(5)Improve the details of exhibits;(6)Strengthen the guidance and planning of the theme of exhibition hall;(7)Join the history of science and technology appropriately;(8)Focus on the development of educational activities of exhibition hall. This study draws the following conclusions for the Tracking&Timing: The evaluation method of Tracking&Timing has certain relevance to the exhibition evaluation project of China Science and Technology Museum, and the practical operation of this method is feasible. This method has the following advantages:(1)The perspective of Tracking&Timing is more applicable to informal science education(ISE)sites;(2)The data obtained by the Tracking&Timing is less likely to cause problems;(3)Indirect indicator data for Tracking&Timing is easier to collect;(4)Tracking&Timing can be used for both formative and summative assessments. This method has the following defects:(1)Tracking&Timing method can not provide direct evidence about the effect of the exhibition;(2)Tracking&Timing has some objective difficulties in the implementation process. This study also puts forward some specific considerations regarding the use of tracking timing.
