As the digital transformation of the industry continues to accelerate,the new generation of information technology is unprecedentedly active which is represented by mobile Internet,Internet of Things,cloud computing,big data,artificial intelligence,etc.and the data center has entered a period of rapid development,and its huge energy consumption problem is increasingly prominent.As the two main components of data center energy consumption,IT equipment and air conditioning systems,are connected through the thermal environment of the data center,and IT equipment is the root cause of excessive energy consumption in the data center.Therefore,it is very important to predict the thermal environment of data center based on server power consumption.In this paper,based on the analysis of the impact of the existing server power model,based on the measured data,the accuracy of the existing typical power model is quantitatively analyzed,and a mathematical model of the server power consumption with high accuracy is established.Based on the power consumption of the server,a quantitative study of the thermal environment of a data center is carried out.This paper first reviews the research status and problems of data center energy consumption and thermal environment from the aspects of energy consumption and indoor environment in data center.The main contents of this paper are determined by theoretical analysis,field measurement and 6 Sigma DC simulation.By counting the power consumption data of the evaluation server published on the SPEC website,the ratio of server idle power consumption to full-load power consumption is gradually decreasing from 2007 to 2018.A brief analysis of the typical workload of the server and its utilization of the various components of the server.The typical server power consumption model is analyzed in detail,and the variables in the model are counted.The commonly used variables are CPU utilization and perf variables.The power consumption variation of the server under different workloads such as CPU utilization,memory utilization,hard disk read/write mode and speed is studied.The correlation between server power consumption and various server variables is analyzed by SPSS,and the typical power consumption is compared and analyzed.The power model established by CPU utilization,CPU clock frequency and memory utilization has large error,and the server power model with high accuracy is established by using pef variable.Taking a data center in Chongqing as the object,the impact of air conditioning operating parameters on the server and the existing problems of the air conditioning system are analyzed through actual measurement.It is found that the air intake and air inlet temperature of the server are affected by the air conditioning delivery and the air supply temperature.The start and stop of the air conditioning will be affected by the adjacent row racks.The thermal environment model of the data center based on the actual power and rated power of the server is established by using 6Sigma DCX.The accuracy of the former model is much higher than that of the latter.It shows the importance of the thermal environment of the data center based on the actual power consumption of the server,The model is used to quantitatively study the influence of rack installation blind plate,server layout,air conditioning control mode and placement position on the thermal environment of the data center.The air conditioning in the row need to adopt air supply control and should be symmetrically arranged.The server shelves should be arranged from one end of the module.
