The application of information technology in industrial production has stepped into a new era of rapid development.America,Germany and China have proposed the plans of ‘Industrial Internet',‘Industry 4.0' and ‘Made in China 2025' respectively.In order to meet the rapid development of information technology and the arrival of big data era,the great development of industrial internet of things(IoT)is imperative.One problem is that the existing industrial equipment is not capable of qualifying the needs of linking everything nowdays.Manufacturers and users need new technologies to collect and analyze industrial data.However,the cost of replacing the existing equipment is expensive.It is urgent to find a solution to deal with the problem that we would meet when we update industrial equipment,for example,high cost,complicated scene and high power consumption caused by long distance and so on.We take the transformation of the equipment of a factory in Tianjin as an opportunity to design a suitable IoT gateway for the industrial equipment.In hardware aspect,it needs to carry RS232,RS485,Ethernet,4G and other interfaces.As for software aspect,it needs to realize the acquisition of industrial real-time data in the field of industry,processing of collected number by the gateway,as well as the packaging and uploading to the cloud server.As for the industrial field device data acquisition,we use the most widely used and proven Modbus protocol for Industrial Equipment Programmable Logic Controller(PLC)communication.As for data pushing and uploading,we use Message Queue Telemetry Transport(MQTT)communication protocol for resource-push embedded devices.The industrial communication gateway designed in this article is equipped with4 G communication module,which can be applied in the complex environment of industrial field and it reserves interface for communication via Ethernet,4G and cloud server.Finally,our gateway enables access to existing popular public clouds,including Baidu Cloud Access and China Mobile OneNet and takes this as an opportunity to build a private MQTT cloud server.
