| With the development of electronic technology, the semiconductor market is expanding. But the capital needed to upgrade chip manufacturing technology and build wafer factories has increased exponentially.IDMs and foundries are two types of manufacturers in the semiconductor industry.IDMs design, produces and sell products, but most of them can't be profitable through direct investment in production lines due to their limited business scale. However, foundries only produce products, with the advantages of production scale, and can achieve revenue by completing outsourcing orders for similar products from different customers. In this context, more and more IDMs begin to adopt fab-lite mode and choose to rely more on foundries to produce semiconductor products.Aiming at the capacity decision problem existing in Fab-lite model, and taking into account the concern of policymakers about equity, this paper analyzes the influence of fairness concern on horizontal capacity decision.Based on the enterprise case of Y Enterprise, this paper determines the two-stage decisionmaking sequence of Y Enterprise and L Enterprise. On this basis, considering the two situations of fairness neutrality and fairness concern, and combining the priority of capacity allocation, this paper establishes the horizontal capacity allocation models under the conditions of preferential use of IDM or foundry reserved capacity. Then,Then, the optimal capacity decision results under each case are solved according to the model. Finally, using MATLAB software, this paper analyses the parameters in the fairness concern in detailed, and compares the capacity decision results and profit of IDM and foundry under fairness neutrality and fairness concern,as well as the total profit of the supply chain, and obtains the influence result of the fair concern on the horizontal capacity decision. The results show that when the wholesale price is less than IDM's variable production cost,IDM's concern for fairness will not have an impact on the outcome of capacity decisions, and only when foundry is very disgusted that he is in a state of adverse unfairness, foundry's concern for fairness will have an impact on the outcome of capacity decisions. When the wholesale price is greater than or equal to IDM's variable production cost and is less than or equal to the sum of IDM's variable production cost and variable capacity reserved cost,if one of the foundry and IDM is very disgusted that they are in a disadvantageous state of disadvantage, then the optimal capacity decision result will be affected by fairness concern; If both the foundry and IDM sides are not particularly disgusted with their own unfair state, then the results of the optimal capacity decision will not be affected by fairness concerns. When the wholesale price is greater than the sum of IDM's variable production cost and variable capacity reserved cost, foundry's focus on fairness will not have an impact on the results of the capacity decision;only when IDM hates being in a favorable and unfair state, will IDM's concern for fairness affect the results of capacity decision-making. |
